Martin Scorsese, no stranger to rock films, is set to make a fictional one based on an idea from Mick Jagger (whom he directed in concert for an upcoming Rolling Stones documentary). It's called The Long Play, Variety reports, and it'll be written by William Monahan, fresh off his best adapted screenplay Oscar win for The Departed. The only plot details Variety offers are that the film will follow two friends through 40 years in the music business.
