Scott Foley to star in murder movie for Investigation Discovery
Though he played the “nice guy” on Felicity, Scott Foley’s time as the occasionally murderous Jake Ballard on Scandal has apparently given him a taste for blood. According to Variety, he’ll soon be appearing in a TV movie for Investigation Discovery called Final Vision. Foley will play famous killer Jeffrey R. MacDonald who, in the ’70s, was convicted of brutally murdering his pregnant wife and children, though he has maintained his innocence ever since.
The TV movie will be an adaptation of Joe McGinniss’ book of the same name, which was originally pitched to the author by MacDonald himself as a means of exposing how he was railroaded by the justice system. However, in the process of writing the book, McGinniss came to the conclusion that MacDonald really did kill his family. The author will be played by Dave Annable.
Final Vision will be the first entry in Investigation Discovery’s new TV movie initiative, with four other stories about famous murders currently in the works.
