Scott Weiland kicked out of Velvet Revolver
Ending torturous hours of speculation, founding members Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum, and Dave Kushner have announced that Velvet Revolver is parting ways with singer Scott Weiland. The rumors started swirling after Slash hinted in a Daily Star interview (later picked up by NME) that Weiland might be given the boot, saying, "There will be a third album. We don't know how or when but the core four guys will continue." Today Slash issued this statement that put all rumors to rest:
"This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn't 100% committed to either. Among other things, his increasingly erratic on-stage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on."
Dude, when Slash can't handle your drug problem, it might be time to pack it in. Just sayin'. Nevertheless, Weiland won't be doing any boo-hooing today; he's got an "extensive" summer reunion tour with Stone Temple Pilots planned for over 50 amphitheaters, so he's probably already got his hands full trying to remember the words to "Sex Type Thing." (He's got the "I know you want what's on my mind" part down, but shit, there's more than just that, right?)
