The venerable Scream franchise from Dimension Films, director Wes Craven, and writer Kevin Williamson, is really, truly coming back for more murderous mayhem in 2011 with its long "in the works" Scream 4. Cinematical (via Variety)reports Craven will take up directing duties once again this spring, and surviving original cast members Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courteney Cox-Arquette are returning for more post-traumatic stress disorder and blood loss. Craven also confirmed his attachment on Twitter last night.
Despite all the announcements about a third sequel in recent years, no plot details are known. Given the technological climate of today, can we expect a passive killer who texts “Do you like scary movies?” before slicing and dicing? The target release date is set for April 15, 2011.
