Screaming Females are going on tour

Don’t let the image of swooning Backstreet Boys fans their name may evoke in your imagination deter you (it’s called irony, guys), because Screaming Females are awesome. Composed of frontwoman/guitar god Marissa Paternoster, drummer Jarrett Dougherty, and bassist King Mike, these A.V. Club favorites—they’ve performed in our A.V. Undercover series twice, and their cover of Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” was voted your favorite Undercover video of 2015—are bringing grit and pure sonic swagger back to indie rock, and now they’re giving fans across the U.S. a chance to get swept away in the group’s rock ’n’ roll avalanche live.

In other words, Screaming Females announced their fall tour with Moor Mother and Gauche earlier today, a slightly more than one month-long jaunt that begins in Morgantown, West Virginia on October 11 and ends in Philadelphia on November 6. You can see a poster announcing the tour, as well as watch their gnarly take on T. Swift, below, and see venues for the tour on the band’s Facebook page.
