Scrooge McDuck comes out of retirement in first DuckTales trailer

Sometimes, the nostalgia machine works, and here’s the proof: the trailer for the DuckTales reboot. We already had reason to hope that this would be good based off the casting announcement, from which we learned that David Tennant would voice Scrooge McDuck himself, while Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz, and Bobby Moynihan would play his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie.

Now the first trailer for Matt Youngberg’s revival has dropped, and it’s full of mischief, excitement, and oh, yeah, lots and lots of gold coins. Uncle Scrooge returns to his adventuring, plundering ways while watching the triplets for a weekend here and there, and their family adventures rope in Launchpad McQuack (Beck Bennett) and Webby (Kate Micucci). Tony Anselmo, who’s voiced Donald Duck for the last 30 years, also features.

DuckTales unfolds sometime this summer on Disney XD and has already been renewed for a second season.
