See Game Of Thrones’ The Mountain hurl a washing machine on Italian TV

Hafþór Björnsson isn’t technically the strongest man in the world, but he is definitely the strongest man to ever appear on Game Of Thrones, which, in a way, is even more impressive. Besides, the difference between “world’s strongest man” and “world’s second-strongest man” is probably so minuscule that the average human can’t even tell the difference. So, while the actual strongest man in the world probably does amazing feats of strength all the time, Björnsson’s feats are more impressive simply due to the fact that we’ve seen him kill people on HBO.

Thankfully, Björnsson’s latest stunt doesn’t involve brutally murdering anybody. Instead, he appeared on Italian TV to try and break the Guinness World Record for throwing a washing machine. According to io9, this is a pretty hotly contested title, so Björnsson’s attempt is a pretty big deal for people in the “throwing washing machines” scene. Björnsson competed against fellow strong person Zydrunas Savickas, and though neither of them managed to break the record—which stands at more than 13 feet and was set by Savickas years ago—they both still threw the thing pretty damn far.

Also, it’s just nice to see Björnsson smashing something that isn’t Pedro Pascal’s head for once.
