See the video for "Waterfalls" from the forthcoming McCartney II reissue

Two of the best and most fascinating records from Paul McCartney’s solo career, 1970’s McCartney and 1980’s McCartney II, are due for reissue on June 14 in various formats, including three-disc special editions featuring outtakes and videos. Both records find Macca working as a one-man-band, playing all the instruments and stretching out on some of the roughest, strangest, and most enduring recordings of his post-Beatles career. A highlight of McCartney II is the icy beauty of “Waterfalls,” which, like all of McCartney and McCartney II, has a haunted, unfinished quality that’s reminiscent of the countless lo-fi indie bands that attempted to mount their own downsized versions of Sgt. Pepper in the ’90s and ’00s. We’ll be running a full review of the McCartney and McCartney II reissues next week, but in the meantime enjoy this clip of “Waterfalls.”
