Selena Gomez joins Paul Rudd’s muscular dystrophy drama
According to Deadline, Selena Gomez will join Paul Rudd in the recently announced adaptation of Jonathan Evison’s The Revised Fundamentals Of Caregiving. The plot centers on Ben, a man who loses his family and finds work as a caregiver for a young man named Trevor, who is in the advanced stages of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. After bonding, the two embark on a road trip in search of Trevor’s father, who bailed when Trevor was diagnosed. Rudd will star as Ben, while Gomez will play Dot, “a sassy 17-year-old who hitches a ride with the pair during a road trip, and whose forwardness and lack of embarrassment about Trevor’s condition causes him to develop a crush on her.” The Revised Fundamentals Of Caregiving begins shooting January 22 in Atlanta.
