Self-purported “greatest remix of all time” features OMI, belly slaps, and Macho Man

Did anyone require a remix of OMI’s “Cheerleader” that features a large man getting slapped in his belly and occasional verses by Randy “Macho Man” Savage? Probably not. But now that it’s here, it’s hard to imagine the world without it. As assembled by DJ Cummerbund, the remix is an odd attack on the senses—it’s never clear how anything relates to each other and yet, somehow despite all that, it ends up working as a whole. Has a generation found its new anthem? No. Maybe in these waning days of August the new song of the summer has been discovered? Also probably not. Still it’s hypnotic in its belly-slapping, and it’s always a welcome treat to hear Macho Man rap.
