Sense8 to return to Netflix for 2-hour finale special

Everyone once in a while, when people want something really bad and repeatedly tell people how much they want it, the internet gods will shine down on humanity and make a miracle happen. That’s apparently what happened today, as Netflix has just announced that it’s bringing canceled series Sense8 back for a two-hour finale special. The streaming service casually announced the temporary revival with a video on Twitter of the Sense8 cluster listening to “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes, with the words “It’s happening” eventually popping up with an announcement about the new finale.

Sense8 co-creator Lana Wachowski released a statement of her own on Twitter, pointing out that the petitions and pleas for more Sense8 actually made a difference and that the extent to which the “collective voice” of the fans “rose up like the fist of Sun to fight for this show was beyond what anyone was expecting.” Also, while this two-hour special is explicitly being billed as a “finale,” Wachowski concluded her statement by teasing that “you NEVER know” what will happen.
