Serayah promoted to Empire series regular, will probably still share stage
The second season of Fox’s Empire will be all about “new music, new money, new power,” but that doesn’t mean that the show (or label) is scrapping all of its current artists. Deadline reports that Serayah, who plays singer Tiana Brown, has been promoted to series regular for season two. Tiana collaborated with and dated Hakeem Lyon (Bryshere Y. Gray), but they broke up when he learned that she was sleeping with another woman (even though he was doing the same thing).
Of course, Empire will still follow its tagline’s suggestions and rack up new performers and revenue streams. Lenny Kravitz, Common, Oprah, and Ludacris (among others) will guest star in the second season, along with Marisa Tomei’s “lesbian billionaire.” And last month, the show announced a talent search for the next Empire artist, who will play the next Empire Entertainment artist on the show.
