Serial-obsessed Redditors raise money for a scholarship in Hae Min Lee’s name

In an attempt to do some actual good, Serial-obsessed Redditors are funding a scholarship in Hae Min Lee’s name. Inspired by the late high school girl whose murder has been investigated during the popular podcast’s first season, the Hae Min Lee Memorial Scholarship drive aims to raise $25,000, all of which will be awarded to students from Baltimore’s Woodlawn High School who are interested in furthering their educations. The Redditors set up the fundraising initiative with assistance from the school’s guidance counselors, who will be charged with deciding “which students best qualify for the grants and the amount of each award.”

As of this post, a little under $2,000 has been raised in Lee’s honor. Those interested in donating can do so through the drive’s website, or via phone or mail.
