Set aside your feelings of dread to watch the State Of The Union
Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Tuesday, January 30. All times are Eastern.
Top pick
State Of The Union 2018 (ABC, 9 p.m.): At this point, we expect to see an official declaration of war on this or that country posted to Twitter by the flaxen-haired pox on humanity who’s currently in the White House, so what’s Trump saving for his first State Of The Union address—or, as he’s already referred to it, “The State of MY Union Show”? [Insert weary sighs here.] Will he use the opportunity to try to win over JAY-Z again, or will he call for a new ban on a different marginalized group? We don’t know! So, despite the fact that our therapists would probably advise against it, we should probably tune in so we don’t wake up tomorrow wondering why everyone is referring to themselves as proud citizens of this Uniom.
