Seth Gordon is also directing a movie about Lewis Carroll

Evidenced by Disney’s upcoming sequel to Alice In Wonderland, all of those Peter Pan adaptations, Kenneth Branagh’s live-action Cinderella, and the fact that Once Upon A Time is still on TV: Revisionist fairy tales remain popular. So popular, in fact, OddLot Entertainment is set to produce a script about Lewis Carroll, thus assuring that even if Once Upon A Time In Wonderland isn't picked up for a second season, people will still have a place to turn to for their Wonderland-fix. Aside from, of course, just reading the original novels.

According to Deadline, the script is a first from newcomer Stephanie Shannon and will be directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief)—who, it was reported just this morning, also recently signed on to make an Uncharted adaptation. Queen Of Hearts follows “a passionate affair that leaves author Lewis Carroll brokenhearted,” which them inspires him to write Alice In Wonderland. In real life Carroll wrote the Alice books after befriending a married couple and their three daughters, so it’s unclear whether this adaptation will fabricate a romantic partner for Carroll, or whether it will explore claims that Lewis had a more sinister interest in the family’s children.
