Seth Rogen, Kendrick Lamar among The Colbert Report’s final guests

There’s just one more week until Stephen Colbert retires his right-wing blowhard persona ahead of his late summer takeover of CBS’ The Late Show. And now The Colbert Report has confirmed the final slate of guests who will sit patiently as Colbert basks in the applause of his adoring fans one last time.

According to The Wrap, Seth Rogen kicks off the week on Monday, December 15 when he stops by to potentially not talk about The Interview. Kendrick Lamar will perform on December 16, while Redeployment author and National Book Award winner Phil Klay visits the show on December 17. And for his final episode, Colbert will be joined by his “colleague and lifelong friend” Grimmy. The Grim Reaper figure has been haunting Colbert’s desk recently, heavily hinting that Colbert (the character, not the person) is about to die. But, given that Grimmy has only been seen in a mask, he may also turn out to be a surprise guest who is not the corporeal manifestation of Death itself.

Comedy Central is running a marathon of classic Colbert episodes leading up to the last show on December 18, so anyone disappointed with these final guests has plenty of time to revisit highlights from the show’s nine year run.
