Shailene Woodley joins HBO’s Big Little Lies with Nicole Kidman
Variety is reporting that Shailene Woodley will be joining the cast of Big Little Lies, HBO’s upcoming “darkly comic drama” about three mothers “whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder.” The limited series comes from David E. Kelley, it stars Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, and it’s based on a book of the same name by Australian author Liane Moriarty. Woodley’s casting hasn’t been confirmed by HBO, so we don’t know who she’ll be playing (Variety believes she’ll be “a single mother”), but Kidman is an executive producer and made the announcement herself at a recent event, so it seems legitimate. Hopefully, the next step for HBO is to commission Fleetwood Mac to record a theme song for Big Little Lies to the tune of the 1987 hit “Little Lies.” Basically, the band would just have to replace the “sweet little lies” line with “big little lies” and it would be perfect. Plus, now that song can be stuck in your head as well!
