Shawn Ryan hints at Kickstarter-funded Terriers movie that he admits probably won't happen

Just in case his involvement with ABC's upcoming Last Resort and a possible Beverly Hills Cop TV show had you thinking that Shawn Ryan had forgotten all about his beloved, canceled Terriers and ways in which the world can toy with its fans, here is a report saying that Ryan is "in talks" about reviving the series for a two-hour movie with the help of Kickstarter. According to Television Business International, Ryan is discussing with Terriers creator Ted Griffin the possibility of finding a way to cap off the series properly via a combination of Netflix and Kickstarter." And according to the report, should they figure out something feasible, the next step would be to take it to Fox 21—who still owns the rights—and convince them that "there’d be some upside for them if they didn’t have to chip in a dime but all of a sudden had a two hour movie as an asset that they could add to what they have on Netflix."

Of course, as with the series, just as quickly as you get into the idea of a crowd-sourced Terriers movie, someone comes along to shut it down—in this case, Ryan himself, who reminded fans on Twitter that it's probably still not going to happen. " Not to throw cold water on folks, but reports of Terriers movie revival are incredibly premature and would be very difficult to pull off," he said, adding, "Would I like Terriers movie revival to happen? Of course. Will I look into it? Yes? Are obstacles immense? Yes. Appreciate show love though. Just want to be honest with fans so you don't get your hopes up unnecessarily." Nah, that probably won't happen.
