Showtime renews Ray Donovan and Homeland, sets Billions premiere
It was Showtime today at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, and the pay-cable network had some good news for Ray Donovan and Homeland fans (of which we assume there are many). The Liev Schreiber-led show has been picked up for a 5th season of flouting the law, while Homeland was renewed for two more seasons of intelligence gathering (which is nowhere near as cut-and-dried as it sounds).
Ray Donovan is one of the top-rated dramas on TV, boasts Showtime, which is all the more reason to give Mark Gordon a few more chances to score some more Emmys. And Homeland “deserved a multi-year pickup,” said Showtime programming president Gary Levine. Showtime hasn’t forgotten about former Homeland star Damian Lewis, who now stars opposite Paul Giamatti in Billions. That recently-renewed drama will have its season two premiere on February 19, 2017. Homeland will return January 15, 2017, but you can spend the rest of the summer with season four of Ray Donovan.
