Fargo’s season-three premiere is now less than a month away, so FX has finally dispensed with the brief promos and teasers—the latter of which, to be fair, gave us this delightful phrase from Mary Elizabeth Winstead—and released a full trailer. An homage to The Godfather gives way to some Old Testament shit: Ray Stussy (Ewan McGregor) covets what his brother Emmit (Ewan McGregor) possesses. The paunchy parole officer teams up with Winstead’s Nikki Swango and Scoot McNairy’s Maurice LeFay for a heist that’s bound to go wrong. Soon, everyone’s caught up in a whirl of brotherly envy, cutthroat bridge playing, and, because this is Fargo, murder. So it’s a good thing police chief Gloria Burgle (Carrie Coon) is on the case.
After you’ve recovered from Legion’s season finale, you can let Noah Hawley mess with your head once more when Fargo premieres April 19 on FX.
