In our first glimpse at Marvel’s The Defenders, the Hell’s Kitchen-based team looked a little worse for wear. Now we know why—the first full trailer for the 8-episode series shows Sigourney Weaver’s villain coming at them with everything she’s got, which includes their own “connections.” But first, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) have a beat-cute, while Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) springs Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) from Misty Knight’s (Simone Missick) interrogation room. And yes, there’s another hallway fight scene, because this is Marvel on Netflix, after all. But there is something shocking in the trailer, and that’s the return of Elodie Yung’s Elektra, whom we bid a fond-ish farewell in Daredevil season two. She’s back, and beating Matt to a pulp, so this team-up couldn’t have happened at a better time.
