Sinister 2 swaps out Ethan Hawke for Shannyn Sossamon
Sinister 2, the movie that posits that maybe Nathan Fielder’s “Ghost Realtor” concept was a good idea after all, has found its lead. Shannyn Sossamon will play a mother who, along with her 9-year-old twin sons, moves into a house she probably shouldn’t (because it’s full of demons). Sossamon will be taking over for Ethan Hawke, who played the unlucky homeowner in the original Sinister. Hawke’s co-star James Ransone will reprise his role as a sheriff’s deputy who—his eyes newly opened to the dangers of cohabitating with the demonic—presumably becomes involved in some way with Sossamon and her kids. Irish filmmaker Ciaran Foy has signed on to direct the horror sequel, which begins production next week in Chicago.
