Sisqó is sick of your “dumps like a truck” jokes
After finally explaining last year that “She had dumps like a truck,” the most mystifying lyric in his 1999 hit “Thong Song,” has absolutely nothing to do with taking a dump and everything to do with “when girls do a booty dance move and they look back at their butt,” you’d think Sisqó’s long nightmare of people confusing him for “some kind of fecal freak” were over. But alas, in a new interview with Billboard, the Dru Hill singer was once again asked about the meaning of “dumps like a truck,” and he made it very clearly that he’s sick of all your dumb poop jokes. “Anybody that was trying to make a joke, the context of the lyric does not say anything to the effect of she took a dump like a truck or nothing like that,” Sisqó said. “She had dumps like a truck, so that joke is old. Nobody can use it no more. You sound stupid. Stop it.”
The rest of the interview is worth checking out for “Thong Song” enthusiasts. It delves into the making of the mega-hit, including the story of its inspiration (spoilers: it had something to do with Sisqó seeing a thong in public for the first time) and how its string part was originally a sample of ”Eleanor Rigby” that Sisqó rewrote to avoid licensing the song from Michael Jackson, then owner of the publishing rights to The Beatles’ catalog.
