Sit back and savor a fascist “shock jock” crying over those meanie anti-racists
Christopher Cantwell is a self-proclaimed fascist “alt-right” loudmouth who openly calls for the violent overthrow of the U.S. government in order to create a white ethno-state free of the polluting influence of Jewish people and people of color, particularly black people, whom he considers intellectually inferior and genetically prone to violence. He does so from the almost assuredly miserable confines of his home studio in New Hampshire, where he hosts a self-produced radio show “whose style borrows from such mainstream shock jocks as Howard Stern and Opie and Anthony.” His goal is to “normalize racism,” he says, and ”anybody who gets in my way is going to find themselves in a very long list of people who regretted underestimating me.” That’s all according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which includes him in its database of hate speech and which brands him with perhaps the most pathetic label of all, “aspiring stand-up comedian.”
There’s nothing fucking funny about Cantwell’s racist rhetoric, but he accidentally created the most comedic thing he’s ever done earlier today, when a video surfaced on YouTube of him crying because he’s pretty sure police have put out a warrant for his arrest and anti-fascists are being mean to him. “We have done everything in our power to keep this peaceful,” he says, choking back tears. “I know we talk a lot of shit on the internet,” he continues, before complaining that “we’ve tried to do the right thing. And they just won’t stop.” This is the same man who appeared in a widely circulated Vice News documentary about the racist violence in Charlottesville over the weekend, where he showed off his many guns and said, “We’re not non-violent. We’ll fucking kill these people if we have to.”
