Slash is crowdfunding a horror film called The Hell Within

Deadline reports former Guns N’ Roses guitarist and presumed photosensitivity sufferer Slash has launched a crowdfunding campaign to produce a new horror film entitled The Hell Within. The campaign is set up at FanBacked, and fans of guitarists with permanently shrouded faces can head there now to check it out.

The film, written by Midnight Meat Train scribe Jeff Buhler, tells the story of “a woman from New York on a quest into the heart of the Brazilian jungle to save a missing girl, only to discover that the child was just the beginning of the journey.” (There is no way Slash’s involvement didn’t immediately trigger a heated discussion of whether to score her arrival in Brazil to “Welcome To The Jungle.”) As always, there are rewards for contributors, including set visits, walk-on roles, and backstage passes to future Slash concerts. This is actually the second film Slash has produced, the first being the unfortunately titled Nothing Left To Fear, currently enjoying an eight percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Perhaps that explains the crowdfunding campaign this time around: Slash enjoys making movies so much, he wants to share the feeling of losing money with all his fans. (That being said, we’re totally going to see this when it comes out.)
