Slayer reigns victorious over flesh-eating disease, starts working on new album

The last we heard from Slayer, the iconic thrash-metal band was sidelined by a scary-sounding (and therefore thoroughly metal) ailment, a flesh-eating disease known as necrotizing fasciitis that befell guitarist Jeff Hanneman. Fortunately, Hanneman appears to be on the mend, and Slayer is ready to create some more eardrum-eating music. Drummer Dave Lombardo confirmed on Twitter that Slayer is writing a new album, and is "looking forward to touring with new music." Slayer 1, flesh-eating disease 0. [via PrefixMag]
