Sleater-Kinney has limited edition Janet Weiss drumsticks for sale, plus weird bonus

While most people eager to see Sleater-Kinney on their current tour are just happy to have the band together once more, those looking for that little extra something to truly register their enthusiasm now have cause for celebration. The band has announced that it is selling Limited Edition Janet Weiss drumsticks for purchase online and at merch tables on their tour. The drumsticks are made by Promark, an honor the company only rarely bestows on legendary drummers like Rush’s Neil Peart. Or some dude from Slipknot.

The sticks are only being released in a limited run of 1500, so you might want to act fast if this appeals to you. It doesn’t hurt that all proceeds from the sales go to benefit the Oregon Food Bank. In a slightly weirder incentive, all purchases of the drumsticks will include a free download of a drumless version of the No Cities To Love track “Bury Our Friends,” so that proud Weiss-stick owners can tap along at home. Finally, the song will have the accompaniment it always needed: the sound of you arrhythmically banging the top of your discount formica table, until your roommate asks if you plan on doing that the rest of the night. It’s practically like you’re in the studio with them.
