Sleater-Kinney reunites for a new album and tour

The rumors are true: Sleater-Kinney is reuniting. The group has announced a new, secretly recorded album, No Cities To Love, due January 20, and a North American and European tour in support. Dates for that run are below, as is the Miranda July-directed lyric video for “Bury Our Friends,” the group’s first new song in almost a decade, which was teased with a mysterious 7-inch included with its recent career-spanning box set.

No Cities To Love was produced by John Goodmanson, who also worked on Call The Doctor, One Beat, Dig Me Out, and All Hands On The Bad One. In a press release, group member and big-time Portlandia star Carrie Brownstein said the renewed Sleater-Kinney sounds “possessed” on the new record, having willed “the entire weight of the band and what it means to us back into existence.”
