It’s not really a surprise that the members of Sleater-Kinney know a lot of famous people. They are, after all, fairly popular and influential. And Carrie Brownstein’s Portlandia connections certainly haven’t hurt. It is a little surprising, however, that Sleater-Kinney would enlist those famous friends to pop up and pimp its new video, but that might also make sense given how reticent the group has been about doing press as a collective. Either way, the fairly minimalist “No Cities To Love” clip is a veritable celebapalooza, with cameos from Ellen Page, Andy Samberg, Connie Britton, Sarah Silverman, Norman Reedus, Vanessa Bayer, Brie Larson, and more. Fred Armisen also makes an appearance, but that’s to be expected.
