Sleater-Kinney, The National, and more will perform at D.C. Women’s March after-party
We now know where all the artists and actors who are avoiding Donald Trump’s inauguration will be this weekend: at the Women’s March after-party. Pitchfork reports that The National, Sleater-Kinney, Ted Leo, Samantha Ronson, Tig Notaro, and Janeane Garofalo are among the musicians and comedians who will play the D.C. event on Saturday. Senators Al Franken and Cory Booker will also be in attendance.
The celebration/commiseration, which will follow the Women’s March, will be presented in part by Funny Or Die. Tickets for the after-party are sold out, which is good news for Planned Parenthood (something that’s all too rare these days)—the women’s health organization will receive all the proceeds from the event, including the money raised via a Charitybuzz ticket auction. But, since your chances of catching the after-party are virtually nil at this point even if you’re already on your way to Washington, enjoy Free Energy’s AV Undercover rendition of Sleater-Kinney’s “You’re No Rock ’N’ Roll Fun.”
