Sleepy Hollow gets a new FBI boss
Fox seems to be doing some “creative tinkering” with its fantasy mystery series Sleepy Hollow, which is the most euphemistic phrase we could think of for “firing some people, hiring some others, and ordering the show to get its shit together.” It began with the loss of showrunner Mark Goffman to a development deal with CBS, prior to the season three renewal. (Whether he was pushed out or quit, he still has his head.) Next came the exodus of popular series regular Orlando Jones, leaving a boss-sized hole in the roster. Then, we got word that Nikki Reed would be knitting flags and kicking ass as a super-spy version of Betsy Ross.
Today comes the latest cast addition news: along with Shannyn Sossamon playing a “mystery woman” named Pandora, The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Lance Gross will be joining the show in a recurring role as FBI special agent Daniel Reynolds, i.e. Abbie’s new boss. Besides being one of the stars of NBC’s canceled-so-quick-you-forgot-it-ever-existed Crisis, Gross has recently had guest stints on Grey’s Anatomy and NBC’s drama pilot Warrior. There aren’t any details yet about his character beyond the job title, but it seems safe to say that—even when filling Jones’ shoes—there’s no way he could be more disliked than Ichabod’s wife Katrina.
