Slipknot guitarist stabbed in the head by his own brother

Mick Thomson, the guitarist for Slipknot, was stabbed in the back of the head by his own brother yesterday. Fortunately, Thomson survived, and none of the injuries he or his brother sustained appear to be life-threatening. The brother-on-brother violence went down at Thomson’s home in Clive, Iowa, where a physical fight between the pair turned into an all-out front yard brawl. Both men were drunk, according to police, and the band’s manager says Thomson’s injury won’t affect any upcoming Slipknot shows.

There’s still no word on whether Thomson’s Jason-like Slipknot stage mask would have protected him from his brother’s pointy, stabbing knife. But let’s just assume it would have, because it’s more fun that way.
