Smash Mouth frontman Steve Harwell is recovering after collapsing on stage

Smash Mouth hasn’t had the best of luck performing at food-related festivals of late—just last year, the “All Star” band was pelted with bread at the Taste Of Fort Collins. Nonetheless, the ’90s band signed on to headline the Sweetcorn Festival in Urbana, Illinois this past weekend. But their set wrapped up without frontman Steve Harwell, who collapsed on stage. Harwell was rushed to the hospital via ambulance soon after, and he’s reportedly already recuperating. The band hasn’t released an official statement about Harwell’s condition, but did respond rather succinctly to a concerned fan’s query about the lead singer’s health.

Entertainment Weekly reached out to the band’s manager for details about the incident, but there’s been no response so far. Smash Mouth is still scheduled to perform at a couple more festivals this year.
