SNL pays tribute to the sexy lives lost on the Oregon Trail in this cut sketch
The Oregon Trail wasn’t easy on anyone, least of all lovers—just think about how the dysentery and wolves would have cramped the pioneers’ style. Well, Saturday Night Live did in this cut sketch from Brie Larson’s recent stint as host. Aidy Bryant’s widow character is accompanied by her daughter, played by Larson, in eulogizing her husband, and she makes it pretty clear what she’ll miss most.
The widow loses her bonnet performing some bubblegum-pop in remembrance of the sexy times by campfire. Her daughter isn’t embarrassed by this tribute to her parents’ sex life, even though the wagon train’s elders are scandalized. But that’s until Kenan Thompson’s character decides to get in on the act with a Wham!-inspired tune. Then things just get uncomfortable.
