SNL writer Michael Che to become Daily Show correspondent
Stand-up comedian and Saturday Night Live writer Michael Che is set to become a correspondent on The Daily Show, Deadline reports. Che only joined the full-time writing staff of SNL in September, so he’s tearing through the highest levels of New York late-night TV at an astonishing rate. (Look for him to be the new sidekick on The Tonight Show by the end of the year.) Che, who has appeared on Comedy Central’s @midnight and John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show, will finish out the SNL season before joining Jon Stewart at the fake-news desk in June. That’s also when Che’s first stand-up special will air on Comedy Central, which somehow became the Michael Che network without anyone realizing it.
