Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart pop bottles in the trailer for their VH1 cooking show
Despite the wild discrepancies in where they come from and what they stand for, onscreen and real-life pals Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart have at least two things in common: They’re both intimately familiar with the inner workings of the American justice system, and they both have excellent agents.
Witness this initial trailer for the odd couple’s new foray into unscripted television, the celebrity cooking competition show Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party. (Get it? potluck?) In the simple 30-second teaser, Snoop and Martha do what they do best—shimmy to hip-hop music and pretend to be scandalized by said shimmying, respectively—before popping a bottle of champagne to their mutual continued good fortune, and to the healing of America. Because if Compton and the Hamptons can unite in the pursuit of pot-brownie recipes and basic-cable paychecks, then surely the rest of us can find common ground, too.
Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party, described by its network as a “half-baked evening of cocktails, cooking, conversation, and fun where nothing is off limits,” premieres on VH1 on November 7.
