So, the people who want to fuck Venom are fighting with the people who want to fuck Ted Bundy
To be horny is normal and good. We celebrate being horny. One would be blind, however, to not acknowledge that horniness is, like booze and Ghostbusters, a good thing that can so easily become a gateway to conflict. For example, there is a large, online community of people who would like to have wet, slimy sex with Venom—not Tom Hardy, we must stress, but Venom—which, hey, no shade. In the last few days, though, the Venom-fucker community has been shaken by a subculture of stans that’s been emboldened over the last few weeks. Yes, we’re talking about the people who want to fuck serial killer Ted Bundy, who is now the subject of both a Netflix docuseries and a feature film starring a hunky, ultra-charming Zac Efron.
So pervasive is this renewed Bundy fandom that Netflix took it upon themselves to say something. “I’ve seen a lot of talk about Ted Bundy’s alleged hotness and would like to gently remind everyone that there are literally THOUSANDS of hot men on the service — almost all of whom are not convicted serial murderers,” Netflix tweeted out.
What upset the Venom stans, though, began a few days ago, when several accounts—some Bundy fans, some not—began equating serial killer fandom with the one surrounding the symbiote.
As one furious user put it, “Don’t y’all ugly ass ted bundy fuckers dare compare urselves to venomfuckers. Venom would eat y’all for stanning a whole ass criminal smh.”
That tweet set off a flurry of reactions, with Venom stans whipping themselves into a frenzy to show how their love for the intergalactic goo-cake isn’t on par with one’s horniness for a real-life killer.
One user even went so far as to call for Venom stans to boycott Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, which, come on, this isn’t Zac’s fault.
What it comes down to, it appears, is that Venom stans want you to know that they lust after a fictional character, one that, as many fans are quick to point out, isn’t even that bad. As one user posits: “Venom defends the homeless from cops. See: Venom: Lethal Protector. When has Ted Bundy done this?”
Check and mate, no?
So, please, let’s end this feud. Or, at the very least, give Twitter a break and enlighten yourself as to why exactly so many love to love a brutal murderer like Bundy. It’s…complicated.
