Although Sofia Coppola is set to direct a dark retelling of the classic fairytale, Funny or Die has created a short that is a little more up her alley. Ariel is the typical Coppola-esque, ennui-riddled beauty who finds herself out of her element and enamored. Prince Eric is an aloof douchebag, and their twee romance is riddled with fish jokes, hip indie rock, and Lost In Translation references. The Carrie Diaries’ AnnaSophia Robb stars as Ariel.
