Solve a mystery or rewrite history with the new Disney XD version of DuckTales

Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Friday, August 11, and Saturday, August 12. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

DuckTales (Disney XD, Saturday, 12 a.m.): In this reboot of the classic series, Donald Duck once again drops off nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie with Uncle Scrooge McDuck at mysterious McDuck Manor, leading to all sorts of adventures. Disney XD says that the series offers many nods to the original, along with a distinctive animation style inspired by Carl Barks’ classic Uncle Scrooge comics. This new series also boasts voice work by Danny Pudi, Bobby Moynihan, and David Tennant himself as Uncle Scrooge. Sounds like DuckTales is surely worth a watch for nostalgia-minded viewers like our own Kevin Johnson. Hear what the new cast members remember about the classic series in our Comic-Con interviews below.

Regular coverage

Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later (Netflix)
Orphan Black (BBC America, 10 p.m., Saturday): Series finale!

Wild card

Titanic (Netflix): The A.V. Club’s 1997 Week is sadly drawing to a close, but the memories will still remain, like an undiscovered wreck at the bottom of the ocean, or a bazillion-dollar necklace that would clearly do more good being donated to charity than dropped down to the bottom of said ocean. Since Titanic popped up a few times in our 1997 coverage, why not give Jack and Rose a proper final goodbye and watch the whole thing again on Netflix? Pop some popcorn, chug some Irish whiskey, and once again get steamed up thinking that if Rose had just stayed on that rescue boat, then Jack would have had that floating door all to himself, and then maybe he wouldn’t have died, and… forget it, man. It’s Titanic.
