Some of The Raid stars will also be in the new Star Wars
Star Wars fans who think the series would benefit from more face-kicking can rejoice: A trio of martial artists from last year’s The Raid 2 will appear in The Force Awakens. According to Deadline, Iko Uwais, the main character in both Raid films, has joined the J.J. Abrams production alongside Yayan Ruhian, who played two different characters in The Raid and its sequel, and Cecep Arif Rahman, the Raid 2 villain who helped Uwais furiously redecorate a kitchen.
There’s been no official word yet on the casting, which Twitch was the first to report, and so far there’s no information about their specific Star Wars roles. We suppose it’s possible that they won’t be doing any fighting at all. Still, like casting Nicolas Cage and not letting him yell, that would just be wasting an instrument.
