Some show about wig enthusiasts is ending for the season

Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Wednesday, June 8. All times are Eastern.

Top picks

The Americans (FX, 10 p.m.): The Americans ends its fourth season tonight. How? Well: “The explosive season finale of The Americans finds Philip and Elizabeth in a high-stakes race against the FBI to recover a hazardous package. Will they get there in time? And will Paige follow her parents into the family business?” You know what? We’re pretty sure everything’s going to work out. Of course, we’re pretty much defining “everything” working out as Philip and Elizabeth living through the episode. That’s it. But the real question about this finale is the same question we have for too many shows: How will we know what to think about it if Chris Hardwick doesn’t tell us? The answer? We won’t. Even Erik Adams will be going in blind without that guidance. Sorry, chief.

Lady Dynamite (Netflix): Maria Bamford could definitely pull off the whole secret Russian agent thing. We’re just saying. Emily L. Stephens’ coverage of Lady Dynamite continues with episode 10 of the Bamster’s series, “Knife Feelings.” In the episode, “Maria invites Scott to her tell-all comedy show, but is surprised when he reveals dark secrets of his own.” If your friendly neighborhood What’s On Tonight contributor had a dime for every time her tell-all comedy show made things weird with her new boyfriend… Wow, this show really is intensely relatable.

2016 NBA Finals – Game 3 (ABC, 9 p.m.): Why should sports be a top pick? Why shouldn’t it?! The Warriors take down… er… on the Cavs tonight. SPORTS GO SPORTS!

Premieres and finales

Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night (ABC, 8 p.m.): This happens right before tonight’s important sports thing, but does it deserve top pick status? The answer is no.

CMT Music Awards (CMT, 8 p.m.): It’s the CMT Music Awards. You know the drill by now, right? Apparently Pitbull is going to be there. That’s odd. Maybe no one truly knows the CMT Music Awards drill. Huh.

There Goes The Motherhood (Bravo, 10 p.m.): There Goes The Motherhood ends its first season with “Better Version Of Me.” But what about a new version of you?

This is also an acceptable end to The Americans’ fourth season.

Royal Pains (USA, 10 p.m.): 100 episodes, huh, Noel Murray? We swear Royal Pains doesn’t look a day over 1,000. In the episode, titled “Doubt Of Africa”: “When Hamptons Heritage is shorthanded, Hank works a shift in the ER for the first time in years. Jill makes a surprise visit to the Hamptons and Hank finds it difficult to play by Evan’s rules when he orders Jill’s coworker into quarantine. Jeremiah bonds with a patient who turns out to be the reclusive author of his favorite book, and Divya worries Lena and her brothers may not have an adequate guardian.” We’re not sure if USA welcomes characters anymore, but there are definitely characters doing stuff and things here.

Regular coverage

Kingdom (DirecTV, 9 p.m.)

Wayward Pines (Fox, 9 p.m.)

Streaming pick

American Dad, “Red October Sky” (Hulu/Netflix): American Dad only gets a mention when we can connect it to The Americans. And no other time. Dasvidania.
