Sons Of Anarchy addresses television's rare lack of Jimmy Smits

By the philosophical maxim that all television must feature Jimmy Smits, else it is not truly a television, FX’s Sons Of Anarchy has signed Jimmy Smits for a major recurring role on its upcoming fifth season. According to Deadline, Smits will depart from his regular roles as people who, though they may have occasionally been scheming or sleazy, at least had the courtesy to do so while wearing a nice sportcoat. This time out, Smits will play a heavily tattooed “Latino gangbanger” named “Nero” Padilla—easily the roughest role for Smits since that season of L.A. Law where he was always threatening to “cut” Corbin Bernsen, which may also have been a dream. Anyway, your television should resume existing sometime next fall.
