Sons Of Anarchy renewed: Sam Crow Forever!

Those who only checked out the first, fine-but-no-knockout episode of FX's biker drama Sons Of Anarchy may be surprised to learn that FX has already renewed the series for a second 13-episode run. But according to channel's press release, each week's episode has drawn an average of over 5 million viewers (including replays), which is sizable for cable, and the total audience has dropped only 3% since the premiere, which is astonishing for any TV show. All of this is good news for those of us who were intrigued enough by the premise laid out in that premiere to stick with Sons Of Anarchy, and have been rewarded with one of the most entertaining, original hours of TV currently airing. For those of you who haven't been watching, there's still plenty of Season One left to go. If you like the idea of a Hamlet-inspired family crime saga set in a small California town controlled by a gun-running biker gang, Sons Of Anarchy may be for you. (And extra incentive for fans of The Shield: Jay "Dutch" Karnes has a recurring role. And the SoA gang runs guns to The Shield's fictional "one-niner" gang. And Sons Of Anarchy was created by former Shield writer/producer Kurt Sutter.)
