Despite the ever-present pressure of turning every property into a shared universe, Sons Of Anarchy has largely bucked the trend. Save for Mayans M.C., the five-season spin-off series, which ended in 2023, creator Kurt Sutter has allowed his flagship bikers to leave their hogs parked in the garage since the show’s 2014 finale. However, FX continues to test the limits of Sutter’s commitment to letting sleeping bikers lie with Legends, a new limited series starring the Sons as themselves. Taking the Larry David route to television reunions, the upcoming series will see stars Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Kim Coates, Theo Rossi, and more play themselves at a fictional Sons Of Anarchy reunion at a fan convention more than a decade after the show’s finale. Keeping things decidedly meta, “the line between life and art blurs as the fractured brotherhood finds itself up against a real-world threat more dangerous than anything they ever faced in their show.”
