Sony’s Amy Pascal also has to work under lingering stench of Seth Rogen’s weed

After at long last fulfilling her fantasy of getting fired, Sony’s former co-chair Amy Pascal is now realizing her other dream of moving to a smaller, not-as-nice suite on the studio lot, trailed by the stench of Seth Rogen’s The Interview and its attendant fallout. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she’ll also be trailed by the stench of Seth Rogen’s weed, because he smoked so much it’s all but ruined her new office.

In a move seemingly engineered by a Sony employee with a deep appreciation of irony and comic metaphor, and who should maybe be working on Sony’s movies, Pascal is taking over a space that was most recently occupied by Rogen and writing partner Evan Goldberg, who stayed there while they scripted the very film that led to Pascal’s ouster. Pascal is now quite literally living in the mess they created.

Or rather, she will be, once the office has undergone industrial cleaning and been repainted, all in an effort to remove a marijuana odor that some say can be smelled from two floors away. THR reports that the lingering smell of Rogen and Goldberg’s smoking sessions is so bad “it has seeped into the flooring”—in much the same way that the after-effects of Rogen and Goldberg’s movie rotted Sony’s very foundation. It’s the sort of poignancy one might muse on after getting high off Seth Rogen’s office.

Still, a Sony source “downplayed the marijuana issue” to THR, saying the repainting really had more to do with Pascal wanting to “put her own decorative stamp on the offices.” Of course, a Sony source also said Amy Pascal stepping down had more to do with Pascal wanting to be a producer and put her own decorative stamp on the movies.

In the meantime, Pascal is said to be in limbo, biding her time by working out of some temporary quarters nearby, until the stink of Seth Rogen can be removed. From her office, anyway.

UPDATE: Seth Rogen has since responded to the charges on Instagram, calling it “completely untrue” that all the pot he smoked smells bad.
