Soon you'll be able to buy obscure songs from Saturday Night Live sketches as a 7-inch

Two of the weirder songs in Saturday Night Live’s recent sketch history are coming out on vinyl. Following the free release of Fred Armisen's Ian Rubbish EP, Drag City has teamed with Armisen to release a split 7-inch featuring two of the former cast member’s other musical contributions: The Blue Jean Committee’s “Massachusetts Afternoon” and The Fingerlings’ “Embrace Me.” The releases are part of the label’s new “Hometown Heroes” series, which it says is made to celebrate “the regional music stars of decades past and local one-hit wonders.” That’s obviously a farce, but it’s a good one, so we’ll let it go.

The split 7-inch will be in stores Feb. 18.
