Sophie Turner got her sex education from Game Of Thrones

It’s important to sit down with your kids and engage them in an age-appropriate conversation about the birds and the bees, before they get a much more explicit lesson from the wolves and the dragons on Game Of Thrones. That’s what happened to series star Sophie Turner, who was 12 when she first auditioned for the part of Sansa Stark and 15 when the show premiered on HBO/Sky TV. In a new interview with The Sunday Times, a now 21-year-old Turner says she learned a lot when she first started shooting the show—and not just about acting.

“I’d be doing a read-through and we’d be talking about very graphic stuff,” Turner—who had her mom on set as a chaperone until she turned 16—says of her experience in the show’s first season. “The first time I ever found out about oral sex was from reading the script. I was like … ‘Wow! People do that? That’s fascinating!” She adds, “I guess that was my sex education. Being on Game Of Thrones.” To be fair, though, we could all probably learn something from the sex scenes on Game Of Thrones. The whole “murderous shadow baby” thing? That was wild, man.
