Sorry pervs, you can no longer watch porn at Starbucks

Bowing to pressure from anti-porn groups Enough Is Enough and the National Center on Sexual Exploitation, Starbucks is following McDonald’s lead and will be blocking porn from its in-store wifi, according to CNN Money. The companies have purportedly been a favorite location for watching porn, ranking only behind the privacy of your own bedroom, sitting at your computer desk, and literally every other place in the world. Although there’s actually no information available on how often McDonald’s and Starbucks patrons use the in-store wifi to access porn, or if they do so at all, Enough Is Enough and the NCSE are pretty sure they know what customers have been up to. McDonald’s statement indicates the fast-food giant “had not heard from our customers that this was an issue,” but when it comes to the dread specter of looking at the unadorned human body, it’s best not to take chances.

Enough Is Enough echoed the Republican Party’s platform in referring to online porn as a “public health crisis,” a phrase Starbucks probably doesn’t want to be associated with no matter what the circumstances. But the coffee company won’t implement a porn filter until it can insure non-porn content won’t be blocked as well. Once the specifics are worked out, though, you’ll have to settle for looking at porn in the privacy of your own home or pretty much anywhere else.
