South Park: The Fractured But Whole gets a new trailer and release date

After some lengthy delays that created quite the build up of anticipation, it seems the creative team behind South Park: The Fractured But Whole is finally going to let rip a big juicy release date for the game, creating a cloud of hype even non-fans will likely catch a whiff of. Building on the Marvel-spoofing story reveals contained in the last trailer, this new one finds the Coon and friends mostly in team-up mode, banding together after a mysterious new vigilante runs roughshod through the town, deploying his farts like a gaseous Daredevil. (Who will turn into the Punisher after three seasons, we’re informed.)

It’s looking like South Park has another winning game, following the success of The Stick Of Truth (which, if you haven’t played yet, will come bundled with every copy of The Fractured But Whole). Sometimes delays are necessary so you can get every last fart joke just right. Barring another pushed-back release date, South Park: The Fractured But Whole comes out October 17—and if you pre-order the game, some sort of bonus Towelie content will be ambling its way to you, as well.
