TNT's non-basketball-related reason for watching TNT, the always-solid cop drama Southland, has just been picked up for a fifth season. As with all renewals of Southland, there is a caveat—namely that once again it will only run for 10 episodes, as opposed to the 13 that Warner Bros. was pushing for during negotiations. Still, any renewal is a welcome renewal for Southland, which has had a surprisingly long, regenerated life after being canceled so quickly by NBC. The show will return in February, giving Lucy Liu plenty of time get that whole gender-flipped Sherlock rip-off out of her system and return to the show, hopefully.
